Pohara Cliffs
The sculptured limestone cliffs and outcrops behind Pohara Beach and Tarakohe Harbour are intriguing and a pleasure to paint. Ancient Northern Rata grows on the cliffs and these majestic trees are a blaze of red in early summer. Pohara Beach is well known as a perfect holiday destination with its safe beaches, ideal for windsurfing, swimming and kayaking, and excellent cafes and accommodation.
