Earthsea Gallery

I am drawn to outer beach of Farewell Spit with its shifting sand dunes, migrating wildlife and the wild Tasman Sea. I have found it a real challenge to paint the sea in a way that reflects its incredible force and energy and yet the viewer can achieve a sense of mesmerising stillness. This is the second painting in a series of coastal, wave and beach paintings which I plan to complete to highlight diverse beauty and fragility of our coastline.
