The Lindis Pass, located on the South Island of New Zealand is a mountain pass linking the Mackenzie Basin with Central Otago. It’s one of NZ’s best known landscapes and its sculptured hill-slopes, prominent ridges and snow tussock grasslands provided a stunning visual backdrop for this travelling artist in search of a painting. Peter has been working on this painting for 2 months and the result is simply stunning. He has captured the vibrant colour and desolation of this empty but immensely gorgeous landscape. Occasionally Peter completes a painting which exceeds all expectation and when hung in the gallery it seems to outshine the rest. This is one such painting!
