Many of you will be very familiar with the distinctive limestone islands off Taupo Point, Abel Tasman National Park. We walked from Wainui Bay to Taupo Point at low tide early in September. Picture this.....a brilliantly clear spring day, a cool nor-west wind, aqua/azure coloured sea and not another set of footprints on the beach beside our own. I found a warm spot in the sun to daydream, while Peter photographed the sea. And then returning to Wainui Bay we collected mussels and seaweed from the rocks for dinner. Peter spends countless hours in the studio at his easel, so days like this just make it all worthwhile.
