We love these cheeky, highly intelligent mountain parrots although this admiration is not shared by everyone. Especially those who have had their cars destroyed or tents and backpacks shedded, and back country farmers who routinely loose sheep to their sharp beaks. We recently encountered this kea at Mt Cook where it was investigating car aerials and sliding down icy windscreens.
