Mt Cook National Park stretches 65km over the highest section of the Southern Alps of NZ. Inside the 700 square kilometre area of the park there are 150 peaks over 2000metres. Mt Sefton, at 3150m is one of the peaks and it stands majestically above the Mueller Glacier just beyond the Mt Cook Village. Our annual autumn holiday this year was truly memorable. We hired a campervan and travelled through some of the most spectacular scenery the South Island has to offer. I have returned to my studio with a bulging sketchbook and my head full of paintings. Mt Cook/Aoraki was where we encountered the most dramatic scenery.
