People often think the northern boundary of Abel Tasman National Park coastal track is Totaranui when in fact, it is Wainui Bay. We often do day walks along this gorgeous section of the coastline as it is very diverse and interesting. From Wainui Bay we walk to Taupo Point, the Maori Pa site or my favourite beach, Whariwharangi Bay. From Totaranui we picnic at Mutton Cove or Anapai or visit the seal colony at Separation Point. Peter painted this from the track to Separation Point looking west along the rocky headlands towards Takaka.
